LITIGATION
The procedure for legal dispute resolution is litigation. The basic division is that issues regarding public law are dealt in accordance with the administrative law procedures in administrative court and matters relating to private law in common lower courts as first-instance. The common lower courts in Finland are called district courts and they deal with disputes or criminal matters.
Litigation is the centre of all judicial operations. For example, in disputes a party can only appeal on matters that have been brought up before the beginning of the main hearing, for which it is very important to get professional help from the very beginning of the process to avoid loosing a case .
